Basic Computer Skills for
Technicians Using Microsoft Windows
Number:
F1008
Length:
1 day
Overview:
For beginners only.
Hands-on course with one student per station designed to satisfy the
prerequisites for our other hands-on technical workshops. Covers basic
computer skills needed for working with automation control systems. Topics
include basic keyboard layout and using the mouse to click, double-click,
drag-and-drop, and right-click. Students who are not already comfortable
with these basic skills will appreciate this “warm up” session.
Our unique
Problem/Solution teaching method eliminates boring lectures and
instead uses realistic tasks to keep each student actively involved in
learning skills which are required on the job. Small class size with
only one student per workstation allows the instructor to coach each
student over-the-shoulder. By working independently, each student obtains
the maximum benefit from the class regardless of previous experience and
skill level.
Instead of
pre-canned scripted labs, each hands-on exercise presents realistic tasks
which require the student to recognize problems and then to systematically
work out solutions. This class effectively develops the problem-solving
skills which other training methods neglect.
Maximum 6 per class.
Only one student per workstation.
